Deaf beggar hospitalised after being subjected to worst cruelty.

LAHORE -- A deaf beggar was hospitalised in a serious condition after some callous persons allegedly pumped air into his body in Gulshan-i-Ravi 'just for the sake of amusement'.

The inhuman act was committed at a petrol pump where the suspects, including a security guard, subjected a deaf beggar, Usman, to cruelty using a compressor.

The incident occurred some four days back when Usman was begging at the petrol pump located at Urdunagar, a populated locality near Gulshan-i-Ravi.

Earlier, a similar crime was reported in the last week of November 2019 in Kahna area where a blind beggar, Iqbal (42), had lost his life after some men filled air in his body using a compressor at a tyre shop.

'As they pumped air into the body of Usman, he fainted because of severe pain', Iqbal Town Division SP retired Capt Ajmal told Dawn on Wednesday.
