DCs asked to supervise anti-polio campaign.

LAHORE -- The Punjab government on Tuesday directed the deputy commissioners to supervise a five-day anti-polio campaign starting from Jan 16.

The health authorities have set a target of vaccinating more than 22m children up to the age of five by deploying 84,500 mobile teams and 200,000 polio workers for the drive that would continue till Jan 20.

Health Minister Dr Akhtar Malik and Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal presided over a meeting of the Provincial Taskforce on Polio Eradication at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.
