DC disputes NCOC's virus positivity figures of Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD -- Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has disputed National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) figures for the coronavirus positivity ratio of 24.6pc in Hyderabad district.

The DC has, however, imposed a smart lockdown in nine union committees of the district for 10 days ie till Dec 28 in line with the NCOC guidelines regarding virus hotspots. He pointed out that the two WHO reports dated Dec 16 and 17 did not have mention of Hyderabad district as far as positivity ratio was concerned.

He said the NCOC claimed on Friday that Hyderabad had reported the highest positivity ratio of 24.6pc. But, he said, 520 test reports of Dec 17 generated at the diagnostic and research laboratory of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) put the ratio at 6.7pc on Friday.
