Crisis after crisis.

PAKISTAN has faced numerous crises in its short history. Our resilience in the face of those crises is undoubted, but this year has shown some extra burden. Covid-19, locust attacks on crops, wheat, sugar and fuel shortages have proven to be a tough test of time for the government and the masses.

It is easy to blame the people in power for their negligence and mismanagement but yet they have to take the responsibility of their mistakes.

Covid-19 raised an alarm when China locked its first city to avoid the spread of this virus, but lack of clarity in taking decisions and confused management opened gates for virus to enter Pakistan.

The locust attack on crops was not unforeseen and independent institutions had sounded warnings that it was developing but necessary preparations were not made to deal with this monster in the early stages.
