CPO asks public for feedback on police performance.

RAWALPINDI -- The city police officer (CPO) conducted a survey via his Twitter account regarding police performance and asked for suggestions about how the police can gain public confidence. The majority of the people who responded said the police should change its 'behaviour and attitude'.

Though complaints against the police for bad 'behaviour and attitude' are not uncommon, for the first time, CPO Abbas Ahsan asked Twitter users for feedback on police performance under four categories including crime fighting, behaviour and attitude honesty and integrity and human rights.

The CPO sought public opinion about how to bridge the trust deficit between the public and the police and gave people 24 hours to respond.

As many as 2,035 people gave their opinion of which 45pc said the police should concentrate on improving and changing their behaviour and attitude, 35pc said the police should work on honesty and dignity, 12pc said they should improve their crime fighting efforts and 7pc said the police should improve its...
