Covid-19 claims 22 lives in Sindh.

KARACHI -- Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday that 9,080 samples were tested which detected 1,776 new coronavirus cases while 22 more patients died of the virus overnight, lifting the death toll to 853.

In a statement issued from the CM House, he said 9,080 tests were conducted which produced 20 per cent result, or 1,776 positive cases. 'Our detection rate remains from 20 to 24 per cent which has to be controlled through social distancing and other SOPs,' he said. Mr Shah added that so far 307,412 tests had been conducted against which 55,581 cases were detected. Of them, 28,023 patients recovered, including 2,417 overnight. 'This is the highest recovery rate, recorded at 50.5 per cent of the total patients.'
