Court sends university student accusing parents of torture to women shelter home.

The court of judicial magistrate/civil judge Saba Qamar on Saturday ordered that a female university student, who accused parents and uncle of placing her under severe torture over marriage issue, be sent to Darul Aman and directed police to submit medical report.

Anam Saeed, a student of masters at NUML, filed an application with court of judicial magistrate through her lawyers in which she argued her father is settled in Saudi Arabia while she got engaged with her cousin Hasnat, who is residing in the UK.

She alleged her mother Shahida Jabeen, brother Bilal Ahmed and uncle Shehzad Ahmed had placed her under sever torture in order to make her agree to call off her engagement with cousin.

She told court she had alerted Rescue 15 (police helpline) and also visited Police Station Race Course where investigators moved her to hospital. She alleged that her eye sight got damaged due to torture while police investigators are not recording her...
