Court seeks LG secy's assistance regarding funds for graveyard's boundary wall.

HYDERABAD -- A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, on Tuesday directed the local government secretary to appear in person on March 10 to assist the court regarding arrangement of funds for the construction of a boundary wall around a piece of land allotted over 18 years ago for a graveyard.

The bench comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan also directed Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, who was present in court along with Municipal Commissioner Mohammad Ali Sheikh, to be present on the said date.

The order was passed on a constitutional petition filed by Advocate Shakeel Ahmed Zai. He has cited the DC, land utilisation secretary, Latifabad assistant commissioner and mukhtiarkar, city mayor, municipal commissioner and Hyderabad Development Authority director general as respondents.

In his petition, Advocate Zai submitted in court that the piece of land for a graveyard had been allotted in deh Ganjo Takkar free of cost. Entry No. 17 was made in the record of rights on Sept 16, 1999 in form VII-B, he stated, adding that possession of the land was handed over to HMC deputy director land by the mukhtiarkar on Oct 4, 1999...
