Court gives deadline to PM`s counsel in Shahbaz suit.

LAHORE -- A sessions court on Monday adjourned hearing of a Rs10 billion defamation suit by Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif against Prime Minister Imran Khan with a direction to the latter`s counsel to submit replies without fail by Aug 24.

As AD and SJ Sohail Anjum resumed hearing, advocate Mansoor Qureshi appeared on behalf of Khan andopposed an application for early hearing saying the courts were supposed to hear urgent nature cases only during the summer vacations.

Mr Shahbaz had filed the applications demanding the court to hear the suit on a day-to-day basis and to seize the right of the defendant (Khan) to file written statement as he had failed to file it within the stipulated time.
