Court asks police to record PPP leader's statement against Vawda.

KARACHI -- A sessions judge on Friday directed the station house officer of the Mithadar police to record the statement of a Pakistan Peoples Party leader, who had approached the court to get an FIR registered against federal Water Resources Minister Faisal Vawda.

Additional sessions judge (South) Ghulam Murtaza Baloch passed these directives while disposing of an application filed by the PPP's advocate Qadir Khan Mandokhail, who had approached the court against the SHO for not lodging a case against the federal minister.

The judge directed the police to register an FIR under Section 154 or 155 of the Criminal Procedure Code if a cognizable or non-cognizable offence was made.
