Councillors threaten to shut school over shortage of teachers.

KARAK: The local government representatives of Teri union council have threatened to lock down the government girls' higher secondary school in the area if the issue of shortage of teachers is not resolved.

They said that the posts of 12 subject specialists and secondary school teachers had been lying vacant in the school since long. They were speaking at a meeting of the village council here on Thursday.

The participants of the meeting said that the lone higher secondary for girls in the area was facing shortage of staff. They said that they brought the issue into the notice of district education officer but so far a single teacher was not provided to the school.

They questioned the education emergency of the provincial government and said that the senior English teacher was transferred from the school instead of filling the vacant posts.

They set one-week deadline for filling the vacant posts. They said that they would stop sending their daughters to the school after expiry of the deadline. They threatened to lock down...
