Cop killed mediating between two fighting groups.

SAHIWAL -- A police constable was allegedly shot dead accidentally while trying to calm down two groups scuffling outside Aifwala Saddar police station on Monday.

According to witnesses and police, members of two rival groups belonging to 73/EB village were returning after attending an investigation session at Aifwala Saddar police station, when they exchanged harsh words.

Soon a scuffle ensued between some of the rivals, who pulled out weapons.

Meanwhile, Constable Shahid Saeed, a resident of Qaboola, arrived there and tried to pacify the scuffling armed men, who resorted to aerial fire. Suddenly, a stray bullet hit the constable in the head, who fell down and died instantly.
