Completion of bridge demanded.

GUJRAT -- Since the Sialkot-Lahore motorway has become functional, the local traders and civil society of Gujrat, Kharian and Jhelum have called upon the Punjab government to complete the project of linking their cities with the motorway through Shahbazpur bridge over Chenab river.

Though the bridge has been partially functional for the light traffic for the last many months,

the poor road infrastructure on Sialkot side and some other shortcomings are the hindrances in making the route smooth for the flow of traffic up to the airport and motorway.

The people of the aforementioned cities have now been losing their patience since the Sialkot-Lahore motorway is open for traffic, said a local businessman who often travels between Gujrat and Lahore.

The completion of the Shahbazpur route as well as reconstruction or even repair of Wazirabad-Sialkot Road would help reduce almost half of the traffic flow from GT Road as people would prefer to reach Lahore...
