Committee to proceed against 'illegal' educational institutions.

MULTAN -- Commissioner Shanul Haq on Thursday directed officials to constitute a committee to take action against the private educational institutions functional in the buildings against which the conversion fee has not been paid.

Most private educational institutions are established in residential areas and being used for commercial purpose without paying conversion fee.

Presiding over a meeting of the District Design and Planning Committee, the commissioner directed that the committee members would visit the residential areas and prepare a report. He said establishment of educational institutions in residential areas created traffic problems for the residents of the colonies.

'There is need to devise a joint comprehensive strategy to address the traffic-related issues and permission to initiate commercial activities in residential areas should be given only after thorough examination,' he said.
