Commissioner Dera directs to expedite repair, restoration work on canal, drains.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN -- Commissioner Dera Division Amir Afaq on Friday directed the authorities concerned to expedite repair and restoration work on canal system which was affected by recent floods to prevent further damage to agricultural land and ensure required water supply for irrigation purposes.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to discuss issues pertaining to restoration of Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC), desilting and cleanliness of drains, and eradication of encroachment around water channels and nullahs.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Wazir, Assistant Commissioner Pharpur Aneeq Anwar, officials of Irrigation department and representatives of farmers.
