CM vows rapid development in tribal districts.

PESHAWAR -- Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that he owns the merger of erstwhile Fata into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with its challenges that include removing a sense of deprivation among the tribal people.

Mainstreaming of the whole tribal region is one dimension of the overall reformed design of the seven new districts and six frontier regions.

The chief minister said this while talking to provincial minister for information Shaukat Yousafzai, spokesperson Ajmal Wazir, MNA Iqbal Afridi, and MPAs at his office here on Friday.

During separate meetings, the mainstreaming of tribal areas, good governance, developmental strategy for the whole of the province, transparency and merit based decision-making were discussed.

Mahmood Khan spoke out his mind about the merger and the government planning for rapid developmental activities in order to facilitate the hapless tribal people through efficient services, adding that constitutionally, the new districts had become part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Says focus to be on tourism promotion

The chief minister said that tourism promotion would be the area of focus in the overall planning of the government. The plan would encompass all areas of the new districts where the developmental work and exploration of natural potential would be carried out through federal transfers and the province would also contribute its expertise.
