CM praises role of doctors, paramedics against Covid-19.

PESHAWAR -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has lauded the role of doctors, paramedics and nurses in the tackling of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and promised the resolution of their problems.

Talking to a delegation of Insaf Doctors Forum (IDF) here on Wednesday, the chief minister said precautionary measures should be taken during Eidul Fitr to spread the virus.

The delegation was led by MPA Dr Sumaira Shams and comprised Dr Sajjad Dawar, Dr Mushtaq, Dr Nabi Jan, Dr Amjad, Dr Rehmat Mohmand and Dr Tariq Babar.

The chief minister said as a precautionary measure, he would not receive people in his house for Eid greetings, while all provincial ministers and provincial assembly members would also be asked to do so.

He said removal of all deficiencies noticed in the healthcare system during the fight against coronavirus would be the government's top priority.

The chief minister said the upcoming provincial budget would pay special attention to the availability of the required human resource, medical equipment and essential medicines in all public sector hospitals to enable them to effectively deal with the pandemic.

Responding to the demand of the delegation for the payment of risk allowance to the front line health workers in the fight against Covid-19, he said the government was already giving a serious consideration to the matter.
