Clinical Pakistan make clean sweep against Ireland.

LAHORE -- Fine leg-spin bowling by Ghulam Fatima and half-centuries from captain Bismah Maroof and Sadaf Shams helped Pakistan women defeat Ireland by five wickets in the third and final One-day International here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Ghulam Fatima, who finished the serAies as the main wicket-taker (eight wickets for 106), claimed five wickets for 34 runs in 10 overs to help her team dismiss Ireland for a modest 225 in 49.5 overs.

Sadaf (72 off 80 balls, seven fours) and captain Bismah (57 off 70, five fours) steered the hosts to victory for the loss of five wickets in 47.1 overs. They put on an invaluable 124-run partnership for the third wicket after Pakistan had lost openers Sidra Ameen (10), who finished the series as top-scorer (277) and Muneeba Ali (12), who remained second main run-getter (146).

Aliya Riaz (23 off 39), Omama Sohail (25 not out) and wicket-keeper/batter Sidra Nawaz (18 not out) helped the team overhaul the target.
