Civil Defence Department trains 69,346 persons in 1188 courses.

ISLAMABAD -- Directorate General of Civil Defence (DGCD) has conducted 1188 short courses and imparted training to around 69,346 persons during last five years.

The training courses in Fire Prevention and Life Safety domains have been arranged in 10 Civil Defence Training Institutes located in different cities of the country to enable concerned persons to cope with fire incidents.

The year-wise data has revealed that during in 2013, 237 courses were conducted and 7,026 persons were qualified, in 2014 the number of courses was 238 and qualified trainees were 11,024, in 2015 around 14,762 persons were qualified during 245 courses, the number of courses was 234 and 23,055 persons were qualified during 2016 while year 2017 witnessed conduct of 227 courses during which 13,479 persons were qualified.

The other achievements made during the period included distribution of 40 Bomb Disposal Vehicles (BDRVs) along with kits to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs). These BDRVs were gifted by United Kingdom and...
