Chinese scholarships for UoP students.

PESHAWAR -- The Chinese embassy on Wednesday announced 100 scholarships for the students of the University of Peshawar.

Cultural Consular Jiang along with First Secretary Pan Yuqi met Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Asif Khan and Director China Study Centre Prof Zahid Anwer on the campus, according to a statement.

The scholarships would be given in the form of annual expenditure stipends to the deserving students.

The Chinese embassy had also given Rs2 million worth scholarships to 40 students last year.

Both the sides agreed to foster cooperation for establishment of Confucius Centre at the university.
