Child killed as Dir school wall collapses.

LOWER DIR -- A child was killed and six were injured when protection wall of a primary school collapsed here on Monday, the police said.

The victim was identified as Javeria, 5.

The officials said work on a mosque adjacent to a government primary school in Dapur area of Lal Qila tehsil was in progress when a wall of the school caved in.

Residents said the recent rains and levelling of the place for building the mosque had weakened the base of the protection wall. They said schoolchildren were playing near the wall when it collapsed, burying them. The injured children were identified as Humera Bibi, 5, Hanifullah, 4, Madeeha Bibi, 4, Tabbasum Bibi, 4, Saweera Bibi, 4, Anuba Bibi, 4, and a labourer Munawar, 22.
