Child electrocuted, uncle injured trying to save her.

MIRPURKHAS -- A toddler was electrocuted and her uncle was injured trying to save her from severe electric shock from a high voltage cable passing within reach over the rooftop of their house in Siyal Colony on Monday.

According to neighbours, four-year-old Allah Bachai climbed on the rooftop of the house and came within reach of 11,000kV high-tension line which was passing low over the roof. Her uncle Shah Baig Jhandeer rushed to save her and sustained severe injuries in the effort, they said.

The toddler and her uncle were rushed to civil hospital where the child was pronounced dead on arrival and the uncle was admitted to surgical ward, they said.

The area people and heirs of the girl carried the body to district and sessions court and held a demonstration, demanding justice by registration of case against officials of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company.
