Chartered flights to bring Pakistanis from US.

RAWALPINDI -- The government is arranging chartered fligAhts for repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in the United States in collaboration with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

A spokesman for the PIA said that initially two special flights would be operated from Washington - the first one to Islamabad on May 10 and the second to Karachi on May 13.

Another flight would be operated from Newark Airport, New Jersey, for Lahore and its date would be announced shortly, the spokesman said.

The government will operate three more flights from the US to repatriate Pakistani citizens. However, the flights' dates, cities of origin and destinations in Pakistan will be announced in due course.

Stranded Pakistanis already registered with the Pakistan embassy and consulates in the US will be contacted to facilitate their travel by special flights. Details about the flights can be sought from the PIA Contact Centre on phone number +92 21111786786.
