Chandio terms Musharraf's conviction 'defeat of arrogance'.

HYDERABAD -- Pakistan PeopAles Party information secretary Senator Maula Bux Chandio on Tuesday attributed Supreme Court's judgement on army chief's service extension to 'incompetence' of the federal government, which mishandled the case.

He also termed special court's verdict in high treason case against former military ruler General Pervez MushaArraf 'defeat of arrogance'. [General] MushaArraf got innocent people and lawyers killed through MQM, he alleged.

The senior PPP leader said that the PTI-led government had adopted an indifferent attitude towards Sindh's issues while it was extending favours to the provinces where it ruled.

He also alleged that PTI was trying to create an ethnic colour in Sindh and for this purpose it was using Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). He regretted that the MQM-P was saying things that went against Sindh's interests.

Senator Chandio was speaking to journalists at a programme held at the Jinnah Law College on Tuesday in connection with Sindhi culture celebrations.

He observed that the present environment and federal ministers' irritation [over unexpected developments] clearly showed that the [Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf] government's days were numbered. He said statements of prime minister and his team of ministers were disappointing as they were aimed at diverting people's attention from real issues.
