Call for lifting ban on loaded trucks in Buner.

BUNER -- The Truck Owners Association, Buner district, in a meeting here on Wednesday demanded of the district administration to lift ban on plying of loaded trucks on the local highways.

Participants of the meeting also expressed sorrow over the recent incident of mine collapse and loss of precious lives. The association's president Abdul Sattar Bunerwal chaired the gathering also attended by other office-bearers and truck owners in Swari.

They condemned the administration for banning passage of loaded trucks on the PKHA roads in Buner district and asked for withdrawal of the decision.

They discussed the incident of Bampokh marble mines in which seven truckers lost their lives and eight others were injured. Seven trucks were also destroyed in the incident.

The meeting extended support to bereaved families of the victims and demanded of the government to compensate them.

They also sought compensation for the damaged trucks.

They urged the administration to set up a scale at the marble mines for weighing loaded trucks.
