APROPOS the letter 'Books and taxes' (Jan 28). It is very painful for me to see how the prices of books have gone up and will continue to climb higher.
I have faced this problem plenty of times whenever I wish to buy a book, especially an imported book, I could not afford it.
Therefore, I prefer pirated copies of the imported books but sadly not every book has a pirated version, only the best-selling ones.
And the best-selling books can never be the choice of every reader as reading books depends upon the taste of an individual.
