Body of youth kidnapped over a month ago found in drain.

LAHORE -- The police recovered the dead body of a young man from a drain in Phoolnagar, Kasur district, some 36 days after he was kidnapped from Lahore and murdered allegedly by his friends.

Identified as Abdullah (20), the youngster was a resident of Nisthar Block, Allama Iqbal Town.

The Gulshan-i-Iqbal police had already lodged a case on the complaint of his mother Shahzadi Bano, who nominated his son's friends in the FIR.

A police official said two friends of Abdullah had already been taken into custody for questioning because they had taken him to Kasur but expressed their ignorance regarding his whereabouts when asked by the family of the deceased.

He said the police engaged Rescue 1122 to trace and retrieve the body of the deceased when his friends in custody disclosed that they had thrown it into a canal in Kasur after he died from drug overdose.

Abdullah's mother stated in the FIR that his friend Ammar had visited her house on Jan 25 at 10pm to pick her son and both went to Kasur.

She said the family was in contact with Abdullah and his friend's mother on phone till the next day.

Later, she said, the mobile phone of Abdullah went dead and since then they had no clue to him.

The police official said apparently the friends of Adullah murdered him under the influence of drugs and later dumped...
