The Belt and Road run through the continents of Asia, Europe and Africa, connecting the vibrant East Asia economic circle at one end and developed European economic circle at the other, and encompassing countries with huge potential for economic development. The idea of Economic Belt of Silk Road (EBSR) was voiced in Kazakhstan bordering China, that the famous Great Silk Road began, to which the historical reference of the whole modern project is based. The main part of the road of the Great Silk Road ran through Zhetysu what meaning "seven rivers" and South Kazakhstan. The existence of this path contributed to the development of this region, significant growth of cities and trade ties.

BRI Importance for Kazakhstan

It is important not only for Kazakhstan, but for the whole world. Kazakhstan already holds a special place in the initiative A. The development strategies of China and Kazakhstan to the highest degree correspond to each other. Kazakhstan has the richest natural resources, however, the branches of the economy are rather monotonous, such industries as light industry, machinery and electronics, goods of daily demand are developed rather poorly. In addition, the world financial crisis has dealt a heavy blow to the Kazakh economy. In order to diversify the economy and respond to risks, the leadership of Kazakhstan has put forward a new economic policy, the A, through structural reforms, infrastructure construction and other measures to promote sustainable economic growth.

As the concept of the economic belt of the Silk Road takes root in Kazakhstan, the level of interconnection and mutual access between China and Kazakhstan visibly increases. In May 2014, the Chinese-Kazakh logistics base was commissioned in the coastal city of Lianyungang in the East of China, and Kazakhstan got a precious outlet to the Pacific Ocean. In 2013, 77 railway flights passed from China through Kazakhstan to Europe.
