Barang villagers end boycott of anti-polio drive.

KHAR -- The residents of Gada Mar, a remote hilly locality of Barang tehsil of Bajaur tribal district, on Friday ended their boycott of anti-polio campaign and expressed willingness to administer vaccines to their children.

According to a statement issued by deputy commissioner Usman Mehsud, the development came following successful talks with the residents of Gada Mar by a team of administration officials in the area.

It said that the team, led by Barang tehsildar Bakht Jehan, had convinced the residents for talks to know about their reservations. However, the statement did not mention any reason for the residents' refusal to administer polio drops to their children for the last two days.

It said that Gada Mar union council was a mountainous locality of Barang tehsil, situated about 60km from Khar.
