Babar, Abid shine on Day 5 of Pakistan-Sri Lanka 1st Test.

Pakistan's ton-up Babar Azam and debutant Abid Ali shined on the final day of the opening Test of two-match series against Sri Lanka at Pindi Stadium on Sunday.

Before the stumps, Babar scored 102 not out, his third century in Test cricket, at a strike rate of almost 80 and it included 14 fours. Abid, on the other hand, marked his name into the record book as the first player in the history to score a century on both ODI and Test debut.

Rewarded for his prominent performance, Abid scored 109* off 201 balls laced with 11 fours.

Abid at the post-match talk dedicated his century to his daughter and said: 'My this hundred is for my daughter and the entire family, supporters, thank you so much for being there for me,' Abid said.

The record-maker thanked the energetic crowd who came in large numbers on Sunday and supported this historic Test match.

'I know fans were frustrated because of the rain but I would like to thank each and every individual who came to the stadium to make this moment joyful,' he added.
