Austerity drive hits lower grade employees, president remains safe.

ISLAMABAD -- President Arif Alvi in pursuance of austerity drive has abolished the several allowances of lower grade employees but no cut has been made in his own expenses.

Aiwan-e-Sadr sources said that Aiwan-e-Sadr budget for the fiscal year 2020-2021 is Rs 592 million. Most of the expenses of Aiwan-e-Sadr are incurred on the employees.

President Arif Alvi has abolished several allowances of grade 1 to grade16 employees who are lower grade employees.

These employees were entitled to grant of Rs 50000 on the occasion of their marriage or death of their family members but president Arif Alvi has abolished this allowance.

During president Asif Ali Zardari tenure one time meal was served free of cost to the employees and now this facility has been withdrawn. The drop facility has also been taken back from the employees who observed late sitting. Honorarium equal to one month salary was also paid yearly to the employees who did office work during late hours. Now this honorarium has been taken back.
