Attock will soon have campuses of three varsities.

TAXILA -- Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Wednesday said Attock would soon have campuses of three different universities including Allama Iqbal Open University and Agriculture University.

He was addressing a gathering at Hazro to mark inauguration of Clean and Green Pakistan 2019 programme in district Attock.

Attock Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar, Hazro Assistant Commissioner Maleeha Eesar and local PTI leaders were also present on the occasion.

The adviser further said Pakistan was facing serious climatic changes threats as Pakistan was placed at 5th by German Watch in its Climate Risk Index.

'Pakistan had no option but to fight climate change to save its future generations from its consequences as economic cost amounting to $3.2 billion due to climate change for Pakistan was the second highest in the world,' the adviser said.

He said ten billion tree tsunami project was one of the eight initiatives the government had launched to save climate.

He said that Clean and Green Pakistan was the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and 'we have to make it successful as this programme is of an utmost importance'. The adviser said trees would be planted over an area of ten thousand kanal on the bank of Ghazi Barotha Power Channel in addition to other parts of the district.

Malik Amin said that the programme was being launched across the country.

He said at school level, students should be made aware of importance of this programme and this was also being made part of the syllabus.

While talking about development of the Attock district, he said 35 filtration plants will be installed in Hazro tehsil. He said that gas supply projects are under completion in different areas of the district.
