and Court to review FIA's report, Defence Ministry's replyand Inquires why court-martial' wasn't initiatedJustice Gulzar points out omission of MQM founder's name from caseISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Monday directed that the inquiry against the alleged involvement of Pakistan Army officials in the Asghar Khan case is completed within four weeks.In 1996,Air Marshal (r) AsgharKhan had moved the top court alleging that the two senior army officers and then president Ghulam Ishaq Khan had doled out Rs140m among several politicians ahead of the 1990 polls to ensure Benazir Bhutto's defeat in the polls.

In 2012, the court had issued a detailed verdictordering legal proceedings against former Pakistan Army chief General (r) Mirza Aslam Beg and former director general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen (r) Asad Durrani.As a three-member bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case, the court demanded that a report should be submitted after the probe finishes.
