According to the current economic survey, the whole education situation is based on key performance indicators like enrolment rates, number of institutes and teachers which experienced marginal enhancement. The statistics show that the total number of teachers during FY2018 was recorded 1.8 million as against to 1.7 million during previous year explaining a rise of 1.6 percent. This number of teachers was estimated to increase by 2.9 percent to 1.8 million during the year FY2019.

It is also recorded in the survey report that the total enrolment in all educational institution in Pakistan was registered 50.6 million as against to 48.0 million during 2016-17 a rise of 5.3 percent. The number of institutions was projected to rise by 1.6 percent in FY2019, leading to a rise of 4.8 percent in aggregate enrolment.

However, according to Labor Force Survey 2017-18, literacy rate trends shows 62.3 percent in FY2018), males and females. Area wise research suggests that literacy rate rose in both rural (51.9% to 53.3%) and urban (76.0% to 76.6%). Officials of survey believed that male-female disparity narrowing down with time span.
