Artworks made out of trash on display at GCU.

LAHORE -- Students from different universities of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan have put on display artworks made out of trash at the Inter-University Environmental Competition 2019 held at the Government College University, Lahore, on the theme of sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The competition organised by the university's Environmental Protection Society, in collaboration with the WWF-Pakistan, also included documentary and short films contest and a poster exhibition.

From plastic bottles to card boxes, students utilised different kinds of waste material and recycled it into works of art.

'We need to promote recycling of all kind of waste in different possible ways,' said Aleena Naveed and Sarah Bhatti from the Kinnaird College shared the first prize for their out-of-box idea and presentation.

Maryam Tariq from the GCU, Lahore, secured the second position while Raiba Sajid, Ezza Naeem, Nooria Ikram, Sheeza and Zuberiya Rasheed from Lahore College for Women University won the third position.
