Appointment of non-locals in tribal districts resented.

KHYBER -- Fata Qaumi Jirga (FQJ) has asked the government to stop appointment of non-local people on the vacant posts in tribal districts.

Addressing a news conference at Jamrud Press Club on Wednesday, FQJ chairmen Haji Bismillah Khan termed the appointment of residents of other districts on vacant positions in tribal districts usurpation of the legitimate rights of the qualified and educated local youth.

He said that government had promised to create job opportunities and appoint local people on vacant posts when tribal areas were being merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that both the federal and provincial governments had backtracked on their promises and deprived qualified local youth of their legitimate right of appointment on new posts.

Haji Bismillah alleged that only 40 locals were recruited against the 481 vacant posts of paramedics in the merged districts. He accused the provincial government of employing all the rest of the paramedic staff from Swat, the hometown of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan.
