Anti-locusts spray on 114,406 hectares.

LAHORE -- Some 150 vehicles and 260 motorcycles are being used to spray insecticides in locusts-affected areas of Punjab, covering 114,406 hectares so far, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Babar Hayat Tarar told a meeting on locusts control here on Monday.

Presided over by Punjab Chief Secretary Jawwad Rafique Malik, the meeting was also told that as many as 760 solo power and 20 Jeeto machines were also being utilised for spraying the affected fields in the province.

The chief secretary directed all relevant departments, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), agriculture, livestock and forest to work collectively on scientific lines to combat locusts.
