ANP resents denial of power royalty to KP.

SWABI -- Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan on Thursday said the centre should stop using delaying tactics for the provision of electricity royalty to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

'We want the power royalty paid to KP without delay as the province has a legitimate right to it,' the ANP leader said on the last day of a nine-day visit to Swabi district.

Mr Aimal criticised the provincial government for being silent on the issue.

'It is the responsibility of the provincial government to fight for the rights of the residents, so its silence on the matter is a great injustice with the people of the province,' he said.

The ANP leader threatened to stage protests on the matter.

He said the country's major dams were located in KP, including Tarbela dam, which was considered to be the lifeline of power supply to the entire country.
