Amendment Proposes That Construction Permits Be Issued for Five-year Terms

During the regular meeting of the Economic Standing Committee, parliamentarians held their first discussion of amendments to the Law on Construction, which states that a special license to build will have a term of five years.

The committee chairman, Ts.Bayarsaikhan, noted, "Five to six years is required to finish building a hydroelectric power plant. Greater construction will be executed in even more time. Under the current law, the special license term to build ends before construction is completed. There are many construction companies with rich experience of 70 to 80 years in the construction sector." He highlighted that there is an inevitable demand to review the terms for special licenses for construction.
