Amendment in rules on not allowing the lawyers to exercise their right to vote challenged.

ISLAMABAD -- The amendment on disallowing the lawyers to exercise their right to vote for two years after awarding of license by Pakistan Bar Council has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of IHC took up for hearing petition filed by Islamabad Bar Association Thursday.

The court while issuing notice to vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council has called reply from him.

The court has issued notice to Attorney General Khalid Javed for next hearing. Notice has also been issued on the petition seeking stay order against Pakistan Bar Council amendment bill.

The lawyers Shoaib Shaheen and Umair Baloch challenged the amendment in bill.
