Allowance sought for health dept's Class-IV employees.

HARIPUR -- The local chapter of All Employees Coordination Council has demanded of the government to award professional allowance to the Class-IV employees of health department.

Saeed Ayub, the vice chairman of the council, said in a statement that Class-IV employees were the backbone of the health department. He said that they assisted doctors, nurses and paramedics but they were deprived of health professional allowance.

He said that despite being one of the key stakeholders of the health services delivery system, the Class-IV employees were not considered equal to other workers.

Mr Ayub said that the provincial government approved health professional allowance for doctors, nurses and paramedics. He said that doctors, nurses and paramedics were getting the allowance in their monthly salaries but Class-IV employees, who always actively participated in the health services...
