AJK govt, WFP sign MoU.

MUZAFFARABAD: The World Food Programme (WFP) has extended its partnership with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government under its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2018-22.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Mohammad Ishaq Khan, AJK's Secretary Planning and Development (P and D), and Ms Katrien Ghoos, WFP acting country representative, at P and D building here in the presence of AJK's Additional Chief Secretary, Development (ACS-D) Dr Syed Asif Hussain.

Under this MoU, the AJK government and WFP would work together towards achieving the strategic objectives regarding emergency preparedness and response, social protection and school meals, nutrition, disaster risk reduction and supply chain in AJK.

Specific project proposals would be prepared for these interventions.

Speaking to the WFP mission, Dr Hussain expressed gratitude to the UN's leading humanitarian organisation for carrying on its operations in AJK.
