Advisory for paddy growers.

LAHORE -- Paddy growers have been advised not to plant paddy nursery before May 20 as the Punjab Agricultural Pest Ordinance 1959 also prohibits its cultivation before the date to avoid harm caused by a certain insect to the crop.

A spokesman for the Agriculture department on Thursday suggested farmers to sow approved varieties of paddy that include KS-282, Nayyab ARI 9 and ARI 6, KSK 133, KSK 434, Nayyab 213.
