Action sought against lawyers who showed 'aggressive behaviour'.

KARACHI -- The Sindh High Court on Tuesday asked the Sindh Bar Council and other bar associations of the city to take action against some lawyers for their belligerence and unprofessional behaviour during proceedings of a bail application.

Justice Omar Sial of the SHC observed that the bench had adjourned all the cases of bail applications fixed for Tuesday due to grave apprehension of law and order situation developing within court premises.

It further noted that the behaviour of some lawyers was a slap on the prestigious profession of law and black mark on the dignity and reputation of the entire legal fraternity.

This court showed immense judicial restraint in face of clear contemptuous and threatening works and acts, Justice Sial observed.

The bench stated in its order that not only an attempt was made to intimidate the court and interfere in the smooth administration of justice, but also the lawyers for the applicant were abused and threatened.
