Academia, industrialists urged to help boost economy.

HARIPUR -- The academia and industrialists should join hands to strengthen national economy, said Prof Anwarul Hasan Gilani, the vice-chancellor of University of Haripur, here on Wednesday.

He was addressing the convocation of postgraduate college for boys. Prof Abdul Wahab, the director of higher education department, college teachers, students and graduates attended the convocation.

Prof Gilani said that only natural resources could not strengthen economy of a country. He said that technology was also must for development and strengthening of economy.

He said that University of Haripur had great potential of carving a niche in the ranks of some of the top universities in near future as it was situated between CPEC and Hattar Industrial Estate on one hand and GadoonAmazai Industrial Estate on the other.

Prof Gilani said that the university had planned to send students of different departments to different industrial units of Hattar during their vacations.

He expressed the hope that the initiative would not only help industrialists having an educated lot of internees from the relevant department but also prove beneficial for the students in acquiring technical skills before completion of their degrees.
