Abid Boxer booked for obstructing arrest of 'fugitives' hiding in his home.

LAHORE -- Abid Hussain, better known as Abid Boxer, a former police officer infamous for his involvement in extrajudicial killings and fake encounters, was recently booked on charges of resisting the arrest of proclaimed offenders who were allegedly hiding in his residence.

The incident took place in Lahore, and Inspector Waqas ul Hassan Bukhari of the Organised Crime Unit (OCU), formerly known as the CIA, on Saturday filed a formal complaint at Faisal Town Police Station against the accused.

The OCU team received a tip-off about the presence of proclaimed offenders, who had been evading the authorities, taking refuge in Abid Boxer's home. In response, a raid was conducted by the OCU to apprehend the wanted individuals. However, during the operation, Abid Boxer reportedly obstructed the police personnel by issuing threats and instructing his security guard to prevent them from entering his premises.

The complaint also alleged that one of Abid Boxer's guards managed to snatch a rifle from one of the police officers.

The First Information Report (FIR) filed against Abid Boxer invokes serious provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), charging him with dacoity, terrorism-related offenses, aiding fugitive suspects, and obstructing the police from carrying out their duties.

Despite the resistance, the police eventually succeeded in apprehending the suspected criminals and proclaimed offenders who had sought shelter in Abid Boxer's house. During the operation, illegal weapons were also recovered from their possession.
