Aamir Liaquat laid to rest at Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in Karachi.

KARACHI -- Popular television host and politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who passed away on Thursday at his residence in Karachi, has been laid to rest in the compound of revered Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi's shrine.

His funeral prayer was offered after Asar prayers at Jamia Masjid Ghazi in the city's Clifton neighbourhood. A large number of people belonging to all walks of life including prominent politicians Imran Ismail, Farooq Sattar among others attended his funeral.

The deceased televangelist had booked a grave for himself during his lifetime on the compound of the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

Aamir's parents, his first mother-in-law and popular naat-khawan Khurshid sahib are buried in four of the graves. He wished to be buried next to his parents in the same cemetery, according to his will.
