79 more power pilferers arrested in LESCO region.

LAHORE: On the 23rd day of the anti-power theft operation, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) got arrested 79 more electricity thieves and detected pilferage on 479 connections in all five districts of the division including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara. LESCO spokesman told the media on Friday that FIR applications against 478 electricity thieves had been submitted in the respective police stations, out of which 307 cases had been registered while 79 accused arrested.

Among detected connections were one agricultural, 21 commercial and 457 domestic categories and supply to all of them have been disconnected, he said, asserting that all electricity pilferers had also been charged a total of 787,873 detection units worth Rs 36.714 million.
