62 Torghar policemen reinstated.

MANSEHRA -- Hazara division police chief Qazi Jamilur Rehman has reinstated as many as 62 policemen dismissed from service by Torghar district police officer on April 5 for receiving financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Programme.

The sacked policemen had approached the DIG Hazara seeking their reinstatement.

'It was noticed that the policemen were dismissed by the district police officer Torghar without conducting a departmental or fact-finding enquiry which is against the provisions of police disciplinary rules 975 and norms of natural justice, hence appeals of the officials are accepted,' Mr Rehman said in a notification.

The reinstated policemen in their appeals had pleaded that female members of their families were receiving the financial assistance under BISP.
