According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, close to majority, 42% Pakistanis cannot recall or incorrectly recall the writer's name of Pakistan's national anthem.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked "Please tell who wrote the national anthem of Pakistan?" In response to this question, 58% said Hafeez Jalandhari while 42% were unable to recall or incorrectly recalled the name.
